What affects the price

Every building is different, so we quote after a free on-site survey. These are the things that move the price most:

  • Piping route and lengthA standard run is short and straight. Going around the building, or down from an upper floor, means more piping and more time.
  • Drilling the holeIf there is no hole for the piping yet, we make one. A concrete wall takes longer than a wooden one.
  • A dedicated circuitMany rooms have no dedicated outlet for an air conditioner. We can run a new circuit from the breaker panel on the same visit.
  • Where the outdoor unit goesA balcony is the simple case. No balcony, a road-facing window, a wall bracket, a roof or an upper floor all change the work.
  • Removing the old unitTaking out and disposing of the unit that is already there.
  • How many unitsSeveral units installed on the same visit cost less per unit than one at a time.

Tell us the room, which floor it is on, and whether there is already a hole and an outlet – we can give you a rough idea by email before we visit.

Frequently asked questions

There is no hole for the piping and no dedicated outlet. Can you still install an air conditioner?

Yes. We are an electrical contractor as well as an air conditioning installer, so drilling the hole and running a new dedicated circuit from the breaker panel are part of the same job. We check the wall and the breaker panel during the free survey and put everything in one quote.

Can you move an existing air conditioner to another room, or to a new home?

Yes. A relocation means pumping down the refrigerant, removing the unit, re-installing it in the new position with new piping, and closing up the old hole. If the unit is already old we will tell you honestly when replacing it is better value than moving it.

My air conditioner is not cooling. Do you repair, or only replace?

We look at it first. A gas leak, a blocked drain or an electrical fault can often be repaired. If the unit is old and the repair comes close to the price of a new one, we say so before you spend anything.

I rent my apartment, or I live in a share house. Is there anything I need to do first?

Drilling a new hole or adding a circuit normally needs the approval of the owner or the management company. We can put the details of the work in writing so you can pass them on.

Can I get service in English?

Yes. Send the form on this page and an English-speaking staff member will reply by email. Our phone line is answered in Japanese only, so please use the form rather than calling.

Which areas do you cover?

Tokyo and the surrounding prefectures – Saitama, Chiba and Kanagawa, including Yokohama and Kawasaki.
